Walking Alongside Those Who Fear

MARTA'S STORY

Please don’t tell anyone! No one can know! Her worry was palpable, her fear was in the air. We assured her we would not tell anyone. Does that sound like a celebration of someone who just gave their life to Christ?

Two years have gone by, and she is still in the Islamic community, participating in Ramadan, praying five times a day, and living in fear that someone will find out she loves Jesus! Six months ago, she ran into an evangelist friend of ours and asked him, “how do I pray to Jesus?”

Our hearts break for our sister in the Lord! she does not have the freedom to worship and read the Bible or to talk to others about her new first love, Jesus. Can you imagine finding the greatest treasure on earth and having to keep it secret?

I don’t know about you, but when God found my heart, I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. The hunger to know God’s Word overwhelmed me and I sought out anyone who would spend time talking about Jesus. Marta had nowhere to grow or experience God’s people and their love.

Hope for Marta

Marta’s story started in our backyard. But it didn’t end there. God placed a burden on our hearts to create safe spaces for those folks leaving Islam. We provide a welcoming home to nourish and grow these new believers. We want to give them a space to feel safe, and experience love and acceptance in ways they have never experienced. We want them to know Jesus.

Walk with Acts NINE as we prepare a safe place for new Christian believers who have left oppressive religions.  We are on the road looking for homes with lots of space and sunshine!
UPDATE: we found one!! Marta’s house is coming!
